Xilisoft Video Editor is a lightweight, user-friendly tool specifically designed with three standalone modules accessible from its main launch screen: Video Cutter, Video Splitter, and Video Joiner. Because the software operates through these dedicated interfaces rather than a traditional complex timeline, handling each task requires a distinct but straightforward workflow. 🪓 How to Cut Video Segments
The Video Cutter module is used to extract one or more favorite scenes from a single video while discarding the rest.
Launch the Cutter: Open the software and click the Cut icon to launch the Video Cutter window.
Import Media: Click the Open button to select and load your video file.
Set the Target Points: Use the built-in media player preview to find your preferred scene. Drag the slider pointers to precisely set the Start Point and End Point.
Capture the Clip: Click the Set Cut Point (or scissor) button to isolate that segment into the clip list. You can repeat this process to cut multiple distinct segments from the same source file.
Output: If you cut multiple pieces, you can check the box to “Output segments as a whole one” to merge them. Click the Cut or Export button to process and save the file. 📐 How to Split a Video
The Video Splitter module is designed to chop a massive video file into smaller, digestible files. It offers both hands-on precision and automatic calculation.
Launch the Splitter: Click the Split icon on the home interface to access the splitting module.
Import Media: Click Open to add the file you need to break down.
Choose Your Split Method: Look at the Split Setting panel on the right side:
Manual Split: Play the video and use the playback slider. At every exact millisecond you want a break, click the Set Split Point button.
Automatic Split: Check the automatic box. You can instruct the software to split your video by a specific time duration (e.g., every 5 minutes), by target file size (e.g., every 500MB), or equally into a fixed number of clips.
Execute: Click the Split button at the bottom right to start processing all segments. 🔗 How to Join Multiple Videos
The Video Joiner module allows you to stitch several independent video clips together into a single sequential movie.
Launch the Joiner: Click the Join icon on the home interface to bring up the Video Joiner workspace.
Import All Media: Click Open (or the Add Files button), select all the clips you want to combine from your folder, and click open.
Arrange the Sequence: The files will populate in a vertical list. Highlight a clip and click the Move Up or Move Down arrows to arrange them in your exact chronological viewing order.
Add Transitional Effects (Optional): Xilisoft allows you to configure transitional configurations, such as adding a fade-in/fade-out effect between clips to ensure smooth scene jumps.
Export: Click the Join or Export button. A settings dialog box will appear where you can customize the final resolution, frame rate, and output video format. Click start to finish the merge.
